Questioning Essay Topics - How To Begin An Essay Topic

Questioning Essay Topics - How To Begin An Essay TopicHere is some additional information about essay topics for the fifth grade problem solving curriculum. If you have already established the topic, then it's simply a matter of sorting out the problem solving parts of the essay. One of the reasons that most students avoid writing essays of this sort is the standard syllabus. The syllabus contains writing assignments on topics that are problems in the classroom. These are often referred to as 'studies,' but they are not problems in the strictest sense of the word. The five-year-old student who has just finished her first year of kindergarten has already heard the standard phrase, 'study time' a hundred times. She has learned that the teacher is the problem solver and that he is going to help her solve her homework problems. Teachers are not problem solvers.A five-year-old uses her own experience, instinct, and intellect to find solutions for her homework problems. In addition, she need s to be able to identify the elements of the homework problem so that she can articulate the proper solution. It is also important to be able to identify the elements of the problem. For example, when a child comes home from school with a homework problem on a piece of wallpaper, she is much more likely to be able to name a color or shape if she knows what she is looking at. The problem is related to what is already known. It is much easier to identify a painting by its basic elements than to determine what color it is.However, homework problems that are related to the problem concepts of a particular subject do not lend themselves easily to the formal structure of an essay. The student who finds an interesting color on her study sheet does not necessarily want to write an essay about it. This student may want to trace the paintbrush outline or diagram it on the board or napkin.Teachers must teach how to make a more interesting problem that is related to the concept but is not necess arily related to the material at hand. By using a problem approach, teachers can introduce interesting facts and concepts to their students that they do not have to describe them. They just use pictures or letters to illustrate the fact.Problem solving essay topics should contain the same approach. Students will get a better understanding of what is going on in the class by seeing it through the eyes of the problem solver, not the teacher.
